After the Taj Mahal, perhaps Palace on Wheels is one of the biggest brands of India Tourism.

Train tour concept has encouraged launch of eight other luxury trains in the country The present train, have carriages bearing the royal crest of former Princely States; & interiors of each Saloon are particular to that region. There are 4 cabins in each Passenger saloon, with onboard kitchen, two dining cars, one bar lounge saloon & an aryuvedic spa .All the cabins have attached bathrooms In the day time, you enjoy pre-arranged sightseeing tours & at night travel from one tourist town to another All the staff is traditionally attired & an ambience of former royalty is recreated. The onboard services are managed by RTDC .The train tour operates from September to April.

Seven Nights Tour Program-Palace on Wheels

The train tour departs from New Delhi on Wednesday evening & covers Forts & Palaces of Rajasthan; Taj Mahal ; Tiger reserves & sand dunes, before returning to Delhi, next Wednesday morning.

Day 1: WEDNESDAY : NEW DELHI Depart
Report by 4.15 p.m. at Safderjung Railway station for traditional welcome & check-in. Be escorted to your personal cabins. Train departs by 6.00 p.m.

Day 2: THURSDAY: JAIPUR –Pink City
Morning visit Albert Museum, housing artifacts dating 200 years old After Photo stop at Hawa Mahal, proceed for excursion to 16th century built Amber Palace, located in hills on city outskirts.

Enjoy elephant ride, up its steep ramparts.
After lunch in exotic fort restaurant, proceed to visit the 18th Century built City Palace Complex, painted pink, in honor of visiting British Royalty. Afternoon return to train & depart .

Day 3 Morning :FRIDAY: RANTHAMBHORE Tiger reserve
Early morning excursion to Tiger reserve of Ranthambhore, home to more than 30 wild tigers & numerous other mammals.

Return to train for breakfast & depart

Day 3 Afternoon: FRIDAY: CHITTAUGARH FORT
Spread over a large plateau, this fort was occupied from 9th to 16th century, before it’s rulers shifted to Udaipur.
After sound & light show program, return to train & depart

Day 4 :SATURDAY : UDAIPUR-City Of Lakes
Welcome to the city of seven lakes, often referred to as Venice of the east.
Morning visit one the biggest Palace Complex in India, the City Palace-built over 300 years in 7 different levels.
Enjoy boating in lake Pichola, famous for its Lake Palace hotel, located on a small island in the middle of the lake.
After lunch in 5 star Hotel, return to train & depart

Day 5: SUNDAY: JAISALMER_ -Golden fort
Morning walk through the bazaars of 17th century built Jaisalmer Fort, whose yellow stones reflect sunlight.

After lunch & brief rest, proceed for excursion Sam sand dunes & enjoy camel joy ride. Evening enjoy cultural program with dinner at 5 star hotel Late night return to train & depart

Day 6: MONDAY: JODHPUR –The Fort Town
Morning visit the sprawling Mehrangarh Fort Palace complex ,with huge entry gates, museum with large collection of Medieval arms & massive courtyards, built in 16th century by Rajput Rulers.
Nearby is located late 19th century built marble royal cenotaphs of Jaswant Thada. A visit to the royal museum at Umaid Bhawan Palace Hotel is a mesmerizing experience. After lunch in 5 star Hotel, drive to Railway station & depart.

Day 7 Morning: TUESDAY : BHARATPUR Sanctuary
Early morning enjoy cycle rickshaw ride through wetlands of Bharatpur, home to thousands of migratory birds

Day 7 Afternoon :TUESDAY : AGRA-City Of Taj
After lunch in 5 star Hotels
Visit UNESCO World Heritage site of 16th century built Agra Fort & one of seven wonders of modern world-The Taj Mahal

Day 8 Morning : SUNDAY: DELHI Return
The train returns to Safderjung railway station by 5.00 a.m.
Check-out after breakfast, by 7.00 a.m.

Booking Procedure
Forward Names /Sex/Nationality/Date of birth/Passport Number of all the passengers, to process booking.

We require minimum 25% advance deposit of total tour amount to hold booking on confirmed basis.

Full/balance payment must reach us at least 70 days before train tour depart date.

Any booking request received < 65 days notice, will be confirmed against receipt of one time full tour amount deposit.

E-travel document/vouchers will be issued on receipt of full train tour payment & passport details of all the passengers viz Name/Sex/Nationality/Date of Birth/ Passport Number with Place of Issue, Date Of Issue & Date Of expiry

Saloon/cabin names will be allotted at time of check-in with boarding cards.

Cancellation Rules For Palace on Wheels Train Tour
1:- The Palace on Wheels train tour is a joint collaboration between Ministry of Railways & State Govt. of Rajasthan (RTDC) & cancellation rules have been accordingly framed by them, which may change at short notice.

2:- Lawrence Travels & Tours Pvt Ltd is New Delhi based booking agent of Palace On wheels train Tour & reserves the right to charge minimum US$ 100 handling fee extra per person ,over & above the cancellation charge Only written request for cancellation will be entertained

If cancellation request is received a more than 90 days before of tour depart – there will be levy of 20% cancellation fee of total tour amount

If booking cancelled between 61 to 90 days before tour depart - Minimum 50% cancellation fee of total tour amount

If booking cancelled <60 days before tour depart – 100% cancellation fee of total tour amount

Booking is non endorsable & any such requests will be governed by cancellation rules

Request for Postponement of journey dates for medical reasons or emergency will only be entertained on deposit of full tour amount & is at sole discretion of RTDC top management

No show/ Self curtailment of journey Or short journey ,for whatsoever reasons, is non refundable

Non receipt of payment will be governed by cancellation rules.

RTDC reserves the right to amend train tour schedule /program & tariff from time to time, at short notice, & request for cancellation of tour for above is governed by cancellation rules.
